Right from the very moment you play the game for the first time, you are treated to the game’s soundtrack, and as things get more intense, it just ramps up from there and gets better and better. Just like with the graphics, it would be really easy for the developers to do too much or too little and end up subtracting from one of the game’s biggest strengths, but thankfully that isn’t the case at all. AudioĮveryone knows that Undertale has a phenomenal soundtrack that is still talked about years later and for a very good reason. Thankfully, Undertale: Last Breath does make some small additions to the game’s graphics, but it blends well with Undertale’s aesthetics, without being overbearing or overshadowing at all. Undertale is one of those games that have a very iconic pixel-art style, so it needs to be delicately addressed by the developer to ensure that they don’t do too much or too little to take away from the visuals. You’ll be in control of a little heart that needs to constantly dodge every single laser, bone, and damaging effect that comes your way, all while the speed relentlessly increases. Your job as the player is to simply survive the bullet-hell onslaught that is Sans.
When it comes to the actual gameplay, it’s all very simple – even more so for anyone that’s played or beaten the original Undertale.
Depending on how hard you like your video games, you may love this or you may hate it – it’s really dependent on if you have the patience to pick up all of the bosses’ patterns. As already stated, Undertale: Last Breath is a fan-made version of Undertale that takes the idea of the already difficult fight against Sans and then increases the difficulty all the way up to 11! The game is designed to be no joke and the worst part is that there are 3 different phases/difficulties for Sans, so even if you do manage to beat him the once, it doesn’t mean the other 2 are going to be any easy.
